Dude, I know how you feel, I was without a lisence for 5 years, and only knew about it for the last two. Old tickets in California caught up with me here. Yadda Yadda Yadda, bunch of fines later, I've been legit again for a while, and it's like being 16 again. I love it!

Ive been doing some research. The most I could get is a misdemeanor. And thats only if the cop is a real jerk. According to the Arizona Revised Statute, I can sound any horn a maximum of 2 minutes out of any hour. and it has to be under a certain decible, which I am going to check the decible rating with a meter and I will regulate the psi to lower the decibles.

Does that statute describe under what circumstance you can and can not sound the horn? What is the statute number?

It was a simple google search, but it didnt say the statute number. I think I found the info on like a yahoo answers or a forum. And it didnt say when you can use it.

isnt there a such law as "abusing your horn" or something like that. even if you blow your horn just to say "hi" its abuse. its a warning signal or hazard. Even if its not I bet if a cop hears it he will pull you over and I think its probable cause since you signaled a warning and then find any little thing wrong that he can and get you for that. I mean if a police officer on here tells you not to do it you will lose your license again, then you second guess that. Then I really really suggest you rethink your future cause it might be behind bars if you keep trying to fight the laws. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOJvPGTWxAU this is what I think about when someone has no respect for the laws. And guess what I deal with idiots like this one every day. Now by no means am I calling you an idiot we all where young at one time, but something my dad told me when I was about your age “if you’re having fun, its probably against the law”. Instead of searching online call up your local pd and ask them, they will tell you about the laws in your town

I've had friends that had train horns and they all ended up getting tickets for it at one time or another.

I am with beastie, I would think since it was a pain to get your license back you would be careful not to loose it again right away.

Directly copied from your State's vehicle code.

28-954. Horns and warning devices

A. A motor vehicle when operated on a highway shall be equipped with a horn that is in good working order and that is capable of emitting sound audible under normal conditions from a distance of at least two hundred feet. Any horn or other warning device shall not emit an unreasonably loud or harsh sound or a whistle.

B. If reasonably necessary to ensure the safe operation of a motor vehicle, the driver shall give an audible warning with the driver's horn but shall not otherwise use the horn when on a highway.

Well, there we have it. I didnt think to check the statutes directly. Now, what about in a parking lot? Parking lots are private property and police cant really enforce laws on them. Ill call the city tomorrow and see what I can find out. If anything, ill still have them on my truck but only use them offroad or something. I didnt build them for my health. Thanks for the info beastie. Ill post back after I talk to the city. Should I call the courts or a call a local PD?

Should I call the courts or a call a local PD?

You should call them both and tell them you plan to
mob around town and scare people with my home made train horns!
because a total lack of reasonable sensibility and respect for others is all the rage, and
The most I could get is a misdemeanor. And thats only if the cop is a real jerk.
and besides,
Parking lots are private property and police cant really enforce laws on them
and then if they give you a hard time just say
I didnt build them for my health.
and I'm sure they will understand.

funny cause last time i heard your house is private property and they can give you noise violations if you have your music to loud. if you do, do it in a parking lot its not going to protect you cause its in public.

I don't understand why you would push the issue in the first place, your evidently happy to be able to drive again.
