cherry bombs or smithy's glasspacks

i have an 87 swb 350 4speed 4wd i want to put true duals on the truck but can't make up my mind as to whether i want to use smithy's thrush or cherry bombs. i am going to use the stock exhaust manifolds and tailpipes. i know what the cherrybombs sound like but the other 2 I'm not sure about. i want the whichever ones "pop" the most but don't have any experience with the other 2. Anyone? just looking for some opinions thanks

I've got a set of no name cheapies from the local muffler shop. They cackle plenty. Once the innards burn out of them, then they'll really make some noise. If that's the sound you're wanting don't use very big tailpipes or put any tips on them.

the smaller the pipes the more high pitch pop. the bigger the deeper the pop but it can get annoying for a dd. Unless you want all the attention even from the cops. the smaller ones will pop all the time but when i had less backpressure. 45s and 5" tips before the tires it would only pop if i downshifted

I've got a Thrush Welded brand muffler.
do you have dual exhaust? if so, glasspacks are the way to go, the shorter the better if you want the POP sound, and it needs to be TRUE DUALS, forget the x or h pipe. two single seperate pipes are the loudest for popping. the larger the pipe the better. slower flow (large pipe) means louder and deeper. higher flow (smaller pipe) means quieter and higher pitched.
a 3" pipe with duals and glasspacks would be loud as heck. though the 3" pipes would make you lose scavenging (not backpressure, cuz backpressure is ALWAYS BAD.)
one thing: there is NO WAY POSSIBLE for any of us to describe to you how a given muffler sounds with enough confidence for you to make a purchase. the muffler i got, some thought it was too dang loud, and some thought it was near silent. its not super loud or silent, but its the one i like best. its way too subjective a subject for any of us to help you with, honestly. and since all these mufflers cost $40 or less, try one and if you dont like it, buy the next one. they're cheap. the shorter the muffler, the louder, glasspacks are louder in general than any other type.
Good luck!
