Power Steering Pulley Replacement

I'm working on replacing the power steering pump on my '87 heavy half with the 350 tbi.  I could not, for the life of me, get that dang pulley off of the thing.  I tried two different kinds of pullers, including heating up the middle until it was glowing orange, but all I managed to do was bend the pulley in a couple places and ruin it, but still not get it off the old pump.  So now I need to find a replacement pulley (with the two grooves because I have AC) and a replacement bracket (the one that's underneath the pulley that I can't get off), but I can't find anywhere that has the pulley and bracket.  Any ideas on where I can get the parts?

I hadn't heard of Dorman products before, what a great resource!  Unfortunately, it says that this pulley won't fit my truck, and the only other one they have that WILL fit is the single groove pulley.

    The pulley in the ad said it fits 93 to 76 trucks with various engines, I think you need to pick engine size.  Did I miss something, thought you said your truck was a 87.

if theres a machine shop with a press around you, you can have them do it for you.  shouldn't cost too much.  if your current pulley and bracket are lost causes, you could get a junkyard pump and get the bracket and pulley off of it.  or buy the new pulley and have the shop get your old one off to get to your pulley.

usually brackets that old are junkyard only items.  might look on ebay too.

Are you using a powersteering pump pulley puller or a jaw puller? If you are using the correct puller it shouldn't have bent.
You need the same tool to install it. Odds are if you torches it the front pump seal is toast now so just replace the whole unit. Go to a junk yard and grab the whole assembly.

Yeah, I checked out your tutorial (good stuff), but when I tried the same puller it started to rip the lip right off the rest of the pulley.  I'm ordering a new pulley, gonna demo the old one to get to the bracket, and I should be good to go.

Alright, so here's the update.  I got the new pulley from  competitor, but it was a different size.  So after demolishing the old pulley, getting the bracket off the old pump, putting the bracket on the new pump, pressing the new pulley on the new pump, I had to take back the belts I had purchased and get all new and different-sized belts, and put everything back together and now she runs like a charm (except for the pregnant radiator hose that I just noticed that needs to be replaced and the transmission I still need to get rebuilt).
