What kind of tool do you use to put in new rivets on the vent window's where the window swings to open?

I dont know if you can still buy them or not, but an old body man gave me some exploding rivets....you put them in, heat them, and BLAM! Sounds like a .22 pistol LOL But they worked great! I guess they used to use them on grills etc back in the day.

I bought replacement rivets from GM. I inserted the rivet into the hinge and then took the assembly to a bench vice and used a hammer and punch to open(widen) the hollow end rivet and then staked flat. The head (flat side) of the rivet was against the vice.

Harmon,
A few weeks ago I came across this article in a magazine about restoring the wing window and it addresses the wing window.

It's a fairly recent article (October 2011 I think). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information guys...these vent windows have been frustrating...I got the drivers side done with no problem. The passenger side I took apart to clean and paint the vent window as it was well rusted....The drivers side I did nothing too...
Thanks for the help again.
