I use Semichrome metal polish. But shop around - it's expensive.

Try Mothers Billet, Red metal lid on it clear plastic bottom. It's a good polish for aluminum, brass, silver, and many other metals. I have aluminum mags for my truck and they need a major polishing done. It just takes time.

This^
Mothers is the way to go for polish. I use it on everything I have that's aluminum and it gives it a mirror-like finish. I've never tried using the 'ball', I just apply by hand, keep rubbing until it turns black, then move on to the next area... I'll usually apply it twice to each object being polished...

are you using the paste or the liquid with the ball. how bad is the oxidation. you dont want to rub it dry with the polish. try misting some water on them while using the ball. if its really bad oxidation try using the scratch remover first, then polish liquid, then the billet polish.

Other than repolishing your rims to get rid of the water spots, use some white vinegar on a rag to remove the spots. I use it on stainless w/ positive results.

I have a power ball and it works ok with mothers aluminum. But there is an all around metal polish called blue magic that works better in my opinion. I currently have some old aluminum american racing mags that I have polished with this and it worked good.

I also stopped using mothers polish when I dicovered "Blue Magic" It works a whole lot better. My rims and a lot of my engine are polished aluminum as well as my semi truck has polished wheels tanks and tool box. So I have tried evrything I can come across. I also use a cheap metal polish kit from harbor freight it has a bunch of differant shaped and size buffing wheels or heads that attach to a drill or just a wool wheel on a buffer for the larger areas. Otherwise for hand application I use the eagle one wadding but the machine makes for a lot nicer and quicker shine.
You can always sand and buff your shine back into just about any polished wheel if needed when they are in really bad shape.

I think that the mothers billet polish is the best out there. I have used it on some really dull wheels and made them look new with alittle bit of effort. As far as how much shine you get and how long it will last depends on what brand wheel you have. Some wheels just seem to be of a better quality of aluminum.
