I found my 85 extended cab in Michigan on Craigslist.  Searched for 3 years before on was close enough and in my price range.  I would suggest doing a countrywide Craigslist search using a Craigslist search.  I have a 2 wheel drive C30 which is the only one I have come across.  4x4's are even more rare as most were 2 wheel drive 1/2 tons.  Good Luck with your search.  Most are found in the south.  http://conversiontrucks.net/Forum/ sometimes have them.  The site owner has 4 that I know of.

About 3 years ago a red one with lift was for sale in Farmington, MO. Don't know how much it sold for, but it was cherry.

I wasn't aware they made em. That would be unique.

From what I understand, it wasn't factory, it was done as a conversion by a company.  Kinda like how conversion vans are done.

How were those different from the "Bonus cab" which was basicly a crew cab with no rear seat? Choptop, do you have any pics of yours? I'm curious as to what they looked like. That would be awsome to have.

I can tell you back then the basic conversion was in the neighborhood of $6000.  GM authorized the conversion and the truck had the full factory warranty.  In all cases the frame was never touched.  18" from the front of the bed was cut off and the bed floor was reused for the floor in the cab, same as in the Crew cab.

That is awsome! They made both crew cab extended cabs and regular extended cabs! I wish I could do that to my truck.

My ultimate plan is to shorten a C30 crew cab frame enough for an extended cab while using a full size 8 foot bed.  It took me 3 years to find the one I have so I am in no hurry.  Some day I will find the ultimate affordable extended cab as my start.  Patience is the key.  There are very few that come up for sale.  I imagine there are not a lot of them left.

Someone somewhere must have documentation of the actual conversion process that was used. They must have had literature especially if it was factory authorized and did not void manufacturer warranty.
