Are you putting the handle on the inside ?  While you are at it might as well put a lock into the works too.

i went with a poor man lock and put a hose clamp with a torx head on the sliding side to thwart off thieves.

this may be the wrong way of thinkin but if someone has the balls to steal a tailgate they deserve it

I've never used sir michaels but I disagree with that. I've used both and I can tell you the half skin is the way to go. I used Mar-K for mine and it fit very nice. How did you attach yours? Panel bond? Weld?

im not disagreeing with going the half skin route but i figure the whole skin would be easier this one from sir micheals was way to wide. it had an over lap on both side. i welded it on, ive never messed with the panel bond  but i hear its amazing

I would say the 1/2 skin with panel bond is definitely the way to go but I'm speaking from my experience with the Mar-K one

You did not give a reason for not the half skin or not to buy from Sir Micheals ?

I prefer to use Grant Kustoms for any filler panels like that, never had any fit problems with their stuff.

Looks dang clean, would like to see the inside, where the handle was remounted.
