Need a Part Number
« on: February 28, 2012, 08:00:48 pm »
I've managed to lose the small ring that holds the steering column lock plate in place. Anyone know a part number or have a source? I don't wanna try and drive the 74 to the yard without that in place.

I will look in my steering column coffee can tomorrow when I get back home.  If I have one, I'll mail it to you.

if not your local dealer should have one, the column design hasnt changed much until 99 with the exception of the SIR coil. Try the "HELP" section at your local auto parts store as well

I found a pretty good website with parts and stuff. But didn't see the locking ring. Maybe you can .

It is all yours slammed79 if you want it.  PM me the address you want it sent to and I will drop it in the mail.  3rd or 4th time I've dug in the coffee can over the years.  Sure glad I parted out a few columns due to theft that were slated for the scrap pile...

Most locksmiths stock them. That's where I got one last time I needed one.
