Hood Ornament
« on: April 05, 2012, 08:15:06 pm »
Gonna see what you guys think.  Been wanting this hood ornament for about a year now.  might go ahead on it.  I think it would be wicked.  It does fit my personality to a tee.

What do you think?  I think Id have to paint in the eyes cigar and maybe the beak.

It would look great on your desk but if you were to poke holes in your hood for Donald Duck that would be a shame.

X2... You have a beautiful truck Kenny that would take away from it IMO.

Maybe you could use it for a mascot for your truck, and keep it inside your cab like on your dash ?

Just my .02,

Sadly in today's world someone might swipe it, unless you could figure out
a way to motorize it like a Bentley.

Hadn't thought of that...  I remember my parents having trouble keeping ther hood ornament on their lincoln back in the 80's because of that.  would suck to have a chunk ripped out of my hood for it.

I'm torn on it though.  For all the reasons you guys stated.  Wonder how it would look mounted top and center to the bumper?   That's my other thought for it.  bumpers are cheap...  relatively speaking.

The other side of me wants it badly because I remember watching "rubber duck" in the movie convoy when I was small.  couldn't get enough of that.

I'm thinking it's gotte be either the hood ornament, or a black rollbar in the bed.  (lightbar)  whatever you wanna call it.  no structural help, hold lights and lets me tie things down easier.

My rednecks comin back out and I NEED one or the other... :P

The light bar idea I think would be great.  Sitting right in the middle staring straight ahead.

I'm thinking drill it out, put red LED eyes in it and put it on your hitch. I'd be the last one to tell someone what to do with their truck, but since you asked, I think your truck has an awesome classic look just the way it is. I vote to keep it off the hood. If you want a hood ornament, get the square Chevy one.

How about a quick or sliding mount ?

I was thinking about this when I was looking at the CB radio that came with the truck on a quick mount  ;D

+1,  Or you could drill it out and add a screw and a nut and mount it on your rear bumper where the towing ball goes
