I'm pretty sure you can use the existing crossmember, but just move it back, which the holes should already be there in the frame. You will need a way to lock up the torque converter, and I know they make kits. Check with transmission websites for the kit. You drive shaft may need shortening.  The dipstick tube may be different for truck applications.

You will also need a kit for the t.v. cable bracket on the carburetor.

A new gear selection indicator for the steering column would be nice too.

I'm sure another member will fill in the things I may have forgotten.

Yup everything he is saying sounds right. I put one in my 77 2 wheel drive. I think I got a colum out of a truck that already had the 700r and the drive shaft as well. The th 350 is about 4" shorter than the 700r I also believe the splines are the same ( not sure it's been a while) the biggest think is moving the cross member and setting up the t.v. Cable ( you can get a bracket off a truck that had a 700r in it )

If the the TH 350 in the truck is original style in the truck then it should be a direct fit including the drive shaft.  The electrical connection for the lock up should be there as well.  In 85 or at least the truck I had it was a TH350C which was standard.  I had to move the cross member back and drill 2 holes but it was no biggie.  Get yourself an OD gear selector, adjust accordingly and you will be good to go.  I just made the same swap in my 1985 C10 a couple of months ago.
