4" lift questions

I was going to buy a 2" lift for my 86 K10 but for some reason the 4" is $80 cheaper so I'm getting that kit. But will I need to get  sway bar drop brackets for this? I read somewhere on here that you don't need a raised steering arm. And I'll worry about the drive shafts later. Any replies would be great.
If there was no rust when you restore a vehicle, it would be to easy.

I would look into the raised steering arm, you want the drag link as level as possible to eliminate bumpsteer. Don't use the s shaped drag link they tend to twist. As far as the sway bar i would try the one ORD has, http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/swaybarkit.htm .

Thanks, where should I get the steering arm from then?

I don't think you would need it for a 2" lift, but check with the lift manufacturer.

its all you need
the sway bar drop is not needed but is recommended and only $36 i would go for it but we just hooked my buddys k5 4" lift and just bolted the stock brackets up with no problem.

i just put a 4 inch lift in myself, as far as steering compenets wise you can you a raised steering arm, drop pitman arm, or an s shaped drag link, thats the one i have and it doesn't twist at all. the reasoning behind the steering stuff is that when you put the lift in, from the power steering pump to the axle you loose 4 inches of steering to the right. figured that out the hard way LOL. we left the sway bar alone and it is all good.

     Some points to think about for any suspension lift/lowering. 
     First and most important, what are you planning on doing with your truck that you need a suspension lift ?  Looks, off roading, mudding ?
     Second you should always build to what you have planned for the truck, even if it is in stages.
     Third, you should always try to buy the suspension kit that includes the shocks, most of the time they are valved for the lift ( not all lifts are the same on how they ride after installed).
     Forth, always cycle your lift and truck while parked ( I like to use a forklift to pick up each tire for flex) to see if any brake lines or such need lengthen or there will be any binding issue's ( like drive shafts ).
#1: The easiest and most obvious solution to any problem is 99% of the time correct.
#2: There is no such thing as impossible, it just takes longer.

Looks like this post is sorta dead but since it was recently resurrected....

Big question and one of the most important imho.  What size tires are you gonna run?
