upgrading my truck.. need help
« on: October 18, 2012, 07:59:53 pm »
looking to upgrade my running gearneed help on deciding what to go for... here are some specs..

350 engine (building a beefed up 350 for it though)
700r4 trans, would like something more reliable (truck is purely a play toy not worried about gas consumption because of no overdrive)
37" super swapers
208 t case
stock front and rear end i believe 3.73 gears?
6" susp lift 3" body ( i know this doesnt really affect too much but maybe pinion angle would be worse on something?)

any ways i want every ones input on what i should buy for my truck.. no im not rich and i dont have a ton of money but i would rather save up and buy the right stuff than have to tear down my truck every time i go play in it..

i mainly play in the mud but i DO have a heavy foot lol, also i tend to be the only guy with decent mud tires around here so i play recovery a lot lol so i want something that will hold up and not break but also dont want to kill my check book. i would appreciate any help and input

As long as it is slippery mud, you should be fine especially if you are only and occasional recovery truck.
If the 700R4 is old, and worn out, rebuilt it would definitely be reliable.

44   1643   1698   1762   1851   1941   2040   2119   2263   2422   2545   2626   2670   2834   3063   3559

The tire size is the column running down the left and gear ratio is running across the top. All the other numbers are the rpm at which it would be at 65 mph.

Ok so the guy said he was interested in trading. I have some 37" tsl boggers about 75-85% tread on 15" aluminum bullet holes would that be an even trade or what? Was wanting some input, what would y'all ask for if you were in my shoes
