tranny filler tube
« on: November 17, 2012, 12:11:15 pm »
Does anyone have any tricks for sealing the tranny filler tube on a th400, or any trannny? Also, about how much fluid should come out of the tranny when you pull out the vacuum modulator? Haynes manual says a little, but about a pint came out when I pulled it off. Any info would be great, Thanks.

Your questions lead me to believe your dipstick and or dipstick tube is the wrong one and you are over filling it causing both conditions... My $.02 which won't buy you much but give you something to check...

The truck had been sitting awhile and there was an excessive amount of fluid leaking. I checked it out and the filler tube bracket was broken and it had come out of the tranny a little, plus I think it was a overfilled. Thanks for some info zieg 85.
