Hey i'm back. So the wife flew me out to New Hampshire for Rally School! Had a great time until I came down with pneumonia.. Still battling it but it's not stopping me from finishing the truck.
I only have 30 miles on the truck and it started leaking oil real bad from the front of the motor. One step forward is always 2 steps backward with this thing. As it turns out the bolt came loose for the fan pulley and wore through the timing gear cover! The gears look to be ok, but the cover is junk which was customized for the adjustable pump gear cover.. So I had to dip back into my savings and buy a billet timing gear cover from ZRM Enterprises.. Hopefully it'll be here before we leave for Scheid next week.. I would like to get more miles on it before the long haul..

     your not the first one I have seen that a bolt has come loose and damaged the cover.  Sorry it put a hold on you driving it though.

     Hopefully when you get all the bugs worked out your family will be able to enjoy it for years to come.

So I finally have some good news! Got all the oil, coolant, and boost leaks fixed over the weekend woo hoo! Test drive was very successful, hit 70 lbs of boost right away, I was giggling like a school girl. I've never heard anything like it, that second turbo makes the loudest screaming howl! Hopin to get some videos up soon, but been busy with work of course and getting ready for scheid this weekend. I'd like to get her on the dyno while i'm there and see what kind of numbers it's making. Takin it in tomorrow for an alignment and wednesday the windows are getting tinted then thursday loadin up.
Here's a shot of the new timing gear cover from ZRM enterprises, 350 bucks off ebay and worth every penny.

So it was a successful weekend at Scheid's diesel extravaganza! Took 1st place in the show n shine Saturday against 70+ amazing high dollar trucks and featured in Diesel Army and Diesel World magazine! All the hard work finally payed off, cant thank my friends enough for all the help and motivation! Felt good that my low budget build could go up against the big fancy trucks like the blowermax. :party018:

Definitely looking forward to going back next year, they put on a great event! I was in diesel heaven, beautiful trucks everywhere, 2 dynos, truck pulls, and drag racing I couldn't choose what I wanted to watch.  We went out to the after party for a little bit friday night, but got a little too crazy for us so we headed back to the hotel, aka our back seats..

New school next to old school!

     That is just awesome, congrats on the first place trophy.  So do you have the truck all dialed in now ?  What numbers did you pull on the dyno ?  Got a dyno sheet you can post ?

Thanks man, need to take it to a local dyno and tune it. The guy down there let off at 3k rpms every time so the second turbo barley lit up. Partially my fault, I don't have the tach working yet and the motor wasn't warmed up for very long.  She only made 421hp and 812ft lbs. Was a very smooth powerband though, awesome low end torque!

     You know there is a formula out there for HP and Torque, it says that at 5252 rpm or before ( I believe) the Hp and torque lines are suppose to meet and from there your Hp should be above the torque the rest of the time.

     This guy that is on You Tube has a bunch of really cool videos on all kinds of different stuff, seems he know his periodic table really well and math.   ;D

@ONLY 812ft lbs

     AT 3k though, I would love to see what it does at 6k or 6.5k.

     So what are your hopes with your truck you are building Irish ?
