« on: March 19, 2013, 07:47:47 pm »
I got s decent deal on a 15 buff rearend and Dana 60 front . I am looking for advise and what not on how the best way to go about swapping them into my 1/2 ton truck. D 60 is direct bolt up right? 14bff I'll have to move the spring pads
. As far as breaks go I'm changing to hydro boost anyThing need to be changed besides pump and master cylinder? Thanks in advance

How much lift? Long or short box? Welding on new spring perches is a great time to get your pinion angle correct. If you do have a lift it may come with pinion angle wedges this will be a good time to ditch them as over time they can split .

Swb and 6" lift, had already planned on taking advantage of using new perch. Locations. And using them. To fix pinion angle. Thanks for the reply, any other ideas?

If you can find a 14-bolt out of a 3/4 ton it will have the spring perches, and shock brackets right where you need them. Otherwise the 3/4 ton 14-bolt FF is the same as a 1-ton 14-bolt.

For the Hydroboost...I replaced my leaky one with a new rebuilt one and at the same time I put a more modern composite M/C on it (Aluminum master with plastic, see-through reservoir).  Bolted-up just right with all of the same port sizes and everything!  I'll have to research a bit to remember what the application was that I picked it off of, but it was a newer Chevy truck.
