Ok- I've read colors and pigtails and every write up on the CS130. I have a CS130D alternator though.
I really don't want links to somewhere else telling me to look at how someone did it.
I have two wires coming from the truck for the original alternator hook-up. Red and Brown.
I have a red batt wire coming from the truck as well.
I have a hookup from painless wiring for the CS130d alternator (part # 30705).
This hookup has two wires coming from it and a resistor (do I need it with batt light?)
I have hooked red/brown together and heard a buzz/whine noise from the alternator.
I read up on the cs130 installs and got rid of the read wire from the truck and ran the brown wire to the truck and the red wire to the eye on the batt terminal on the alternator- same noise.
I am not seeing any arcing from the battery terminals when it is making this noise- so not thinking there is any draw from it- but I don't think it is normal operation.
I have pics... Please just tell me which wire I run where to make it work... THANKS!
I should add the truck is not yet in running order- have to obviously run a fuel line, get so e power steering hoses, and the normal odds and ends. The humming is just from hooking the truck up.
