Break lights question?

Ok so my break light are not working bulbs are good  I looked under dash looks like the switch works when break pedal is pushed other then that what's my 1st move to getting them working?
1. It's a 79 c10
2 running lights work and blinkers also

Maybe it's because you "break"ed them ;) backprobe the brake light switch with a test light and test the actuation of the switch or disconnect the electrical connector and jumper the terminals.

I had a problem with one of my sockets (where the light bulb goes in) I had to wire in a new socket.

Found that somehow the switch had twisted and one wire pulled off :) thank God for easy fixes
