body mount kits
« on: June 08, 2013, 07:47:33 pm »
Im swapping everything off my 77 frame onto an 84 frame. I can't find where I can buy the metal parts of the body mounts only rubber... anyone know where I could find a complete kit that would include the metal washers as well?

Still doesn't look like it has all the metal bowl like washers. I'll print not of a parts diagram at work Monday and make sure I'm not over thinking. That ks

You need to keep the cups from the 81-up frames, they aren't supplied aftermarket.

^^^ crap... don't have them.. just ordered a kit from a company the reassured me that it would include everything I needed.. ( told them I had a bare frame and needed everything that was required to bolt the body on) guess I'll find out this week. Anyways I have another question... there was one kit for 81-83 and another for 84-87... anyone know why? Different style washed used? Of something that's a bigger deal?

The body mounts split in 73-80 and 81-87(91), They are different for each application though: Pickup, Blazer, Suburban.

Be prepared to find the cups.

1981 and up washers are like gold up here in NY cause there usually all rusted out. At one time you could get them through the dealer at like 8 bucks a pop.

Winky:  This seems to be a fairly common problem.  Could you provide a link to the source of the kit you obtained?  I'm sure others would like to take advantage of your research.

Thanks.
