84 3/4 ton big block, dana rear end. Ok there are the particulars. I just bought this truck to replace my 85 1/2 ton and this a a true find. The truck was always used as a light farm truck, hadn't been waxed in years so I brought the paint back and it looks amazing, very very little rust and just a well taken care of truck. The truck didn't come with a spare tire and after researching it a little I found out that a spare tire was actually an option back then and if you declined the option you didn't get the mounting hardware on the truck. If I understand correctly there were two spare tire mounting options, 1) a standard crossmember that the tire is affixed to and 2) an actual slide out belly so to speak. There is no evidence of either so I'm assuming it never had a spare mounted other than floating around in the bed of the truck. Does anyone make the underside mounting kit, basically everything needed to mount the spare under the bed? I guess I could take it to a welding shop and have them work something up but if someone has a better idea I'd be interested in it. thoughts?
