rear drum locking up
« on: October 21, 2013, 07:32:04 pm »
the passenger side rear drum is locking up when the truck sit for a descent amount of time (at work or over night) with the parking break set.  i rebuilt the drums in late Auguste and this did not start till about 2-3 weeks ago. its not every time but is definitely becoming more frequent. i opened it up and everything looked fine. any ideas on where to begin to fined the problem.

Could the adjuster be set too tight? That would be the simplest thing to check.

the drum breaks are self adjusting and i was bale to pull the drum off. i think the cylinders need to be replaced. or the parking break cable is damaged.

Wheel cylinders have nothing to do with it, nor do the lines it is a mechanical cable break , there are 3 cables on the truck, I'd say the passenger side cable is seizing up
