Brake problems
« on: November 16, 2013, 05:45:19 pm »
Alright guys got a problem. I have a 1979 big ten and the problem is with my brakes when I hit the brake pedal hard I have brakes and it stops but if I slowly apply the brakes it goes all the way to the floor and the brakes don't engage I've change the booster but not the cylinder, is the cylinder the problem? And before u ask I did bleed the brakes. Thanks for any help

X2

When you replace the M/C, bench bleed it first and then give the whole system a good flushing with fresh DOT 3/4 fluid.  Be sure to check the wheel cylinders for weeping, too.

The rear wheel cylinders have moist dust boots.  When they start to weep brake dust will collect around the dust boots.
