No fuel

I recently was driving my 80 chevy home from work and it just stopped running no warning so I called my buddy to tow me home and I get home and there is no pressure so I replaced the fuel pump and still no pressure not sure what to do can anyone help?

Sometimes you can create a vacuum in the fuel system which will starve the pump/carb. Unscrew the fuel cap, if it runs then there is a problem. First, check the gas cap, they are cheap to replace. Second,  check your evap canister (if you have one), if its plugged then that will create the vacuum. Run a hose from evap steel line straight to carb. If it runs, then it is a bad canister. Finally, check the return lines (if you have them). One could be collapsed.

Are you sure the new pump is not faulty?  I suppose it could also be that the fuel pump eccentric may have gone south.  Not sure how you could confirm that.  I don't know if a visual inspection into the fuel pump opening to the cam would be helpful.

Do you have dual tanks?  Have you inspected all the lines for cracks or holes or damage?  Are all your fuel line connections good and tight and not leaking?  I would think that any air being sucked into a damaged line might create the condition you describe.  Or a plugged fuel line or filter.  Have you checked the filter?
