CTS-V Swap

Not sure if anyone follows the motor trend dirt everyday channel on you tube when they did the Chevy with CTS-V motor swap. Now summit sells the whole swap crazy cool but not worth that much.

In for a penny, in for a pound.  If price no object, go for this one.  I think it would be fun to drop one of these in a '65 GTO or any '69 A-body with a dynamited motor.  Put the Hotchkiss kit under it and Willwood on all four corners.  Throw a brick at the pedal and then just hang on.

Yeah seen that episode, made that truck really move and do wicked burnouts. It's neat they have a kit for that exact swap. The only thing is how much more do you have to buy to complete it. Make that $15,000 more like 16 or 17 grand to finish it. I figured they would have put a cummins or duramax in because it was already a diesel.

Looks like quite the mismatch and an incredible waste of $ - Isn't the beauty in any swap the innovation and the fact that you made it happen? I can't understand why someone would invest in that unless they had more money than brains.

I am sure it was due to sponsorship, but the shop that the work was done (Offroad Connection) I know the owner.  My brother Toolmaster was there yesterday and someone was wanting parts from me...

If i was going to spend that much i would put a turbo on my truck. I will admit i like the sound of a roots style blower.

i think its geared toward the older folks that are getting ready to or have retired and want a cool old vehicle with updated everything.  it is a huge chunk of money for that but when you are building a whole car it melts in with the other costs...

I'm happy with the costs of my LSx engine because it was 1/10th the price.  lol  and it did come with a trans and t/case.  of course its not putting out 500+ HP either.
