Running like a turd
« on: January 31, 2014, 08:34:27 pm »
I have a 1985 K10 with a Mr. Goodwrench 350. I have replaced the plugs and wires. Just rebuilt the carb. checked the manifold bolts those are all tight. When i give it gas you can tell it wants to run right but wont. it kinda sputters. no back fire. anymore questions please ask. I'm out of ideas and need help.

Irish_Alley: It just started one morning out of no where, fuel filter is brand new, timing was set maybe two months ago and I promise it ain't a ford.
Bake47: I do not have cats on the truck. Will be putting headers and a full exhaust in a couple of weeks.
Zieg85: It does it hot or cold and seems to be doing it on the lower speed or i just cant hear it on the high way and it started about a week or so ago.

Did you hook the vacuum advance to ported vacuum or manifold vacuum?

on the carb. ported will be vacuum when you're on the gas and manifold is constant. if you feel vacuum on the port while at idle then you have found manifold is no vacuum then ported. its recommended to be ported on the advance for better emissions. but some people say its better for your truck to be on manifold
