Rsbad, Looks like your friend has spent a little time practicing with that welder!  Very Nice. Are those the housing ends for the big Ford bearing w/ the GM truck backing plate pattern? I had gotten the Chassisworks catalog years ago with that truck in it, I personally think it sits a little high all the way around, to each his own. Yes, my friend is a professional welder by trade and trains people on the side. The housing ends I am going to use are for the 3.150 bearing and stock truck drum backing plate pattern. I agree, the truck sits a little high, but mine won't be.

that looks awsome...i always have loved that pro-street look. those look like some very nice welds.. i have kinda a dumb question but what kind of fuel injection is on ur truck??

I had the older Holley 4Di Throttle Body Injection, but have since removed that system and installed a Demon 850 Carb.

Not sure what you have in mind for the brakes, but they also make those housing ends W/ the 3.150 bearing in the GM car backing plate pattern. If you used them, the '90's Caprice/Impala bubble car disc set-up has that car backing plate pattern (PBR calipers,intigrated drum E-brake) with the same wheel bolt pattern as the 2wd GM trucks. Could make for a nice set-up, just something to ponder, Lorne

The drums will be sufficient for now, plus they aren't that old. I replaced everything in the drum setup including all the springs about 3000 miles ago. I'm trying to run what I have for now and see down the road about disc etc......

What is the threaded rod for on the 4link brackets?

Stewart, The all-thread rods work well during the building stages. You can align the brackets (you know both are straight with each other) & when you can slide the rod out, you know the brackets are not cocked a little. If you put a nut on each side of the bracket, you can loosen one/tighten one to get the brackets 90* to the axle tubes while welding. Lorne

Helps out with keeping brackets aligned side to side etc....as Haulin it has stated. I machined the spacers out to simulate the poly rod ends for welding.
