Got new headlights installed today, did a rear diff service, except for filling it with fluid , installed rear bumper and tried to clean it up a bit, was sitting for a year...... Also siliconed the wiring in for dual electric fans today, I will apply more once it dries though. Cleaned the housing of the axle really well and the cover and mounting surface and hopefully will have no leaks! Tomorrow I'd like to tackle installing the new shifter and a few other things. I had the truck moved to the correct driveway now that the concrete has dried on the sidewalk It was moved I to its new parking spot today!

I ordered the rear brake line a couple days ago, it shipped out today. Now I just need to get the front lines, and replace the e brake cable in its entirety

Should be dropping off the driveshaft soon, I decided instead of a quick bandaid fix, I will just fork it over and have one built instead, and wait until I can have the front driveshaft built this summer..... I'm making progress guys

Captkaos how much oil pressure should this engine make on a high idle?

I am not Captkaos but I would think that 45 to 60 pounds of oil pressure would be close. Maybe a little more. Also you have to factor in the viscosity of your oil. Please tell me you had cam lube or break in oil in it. I don't remember you posting whether you did.

In your second video, why didn't your helper adjust the engine up to 2000 rpm and leave it there for 30 minutes? It was unclear, to me at least, if you had already broken the engine in prior to that video. The engine sounds pretty healthy. :)
It's been a LONG time since I have been called a newbie. Just sayin....

Thanks Don for going ahead and posting that. Yes it was primed and I have engine break in oil :-) thanks I thought so too. Video definitely does no justice on the sound of the motor maybe next video will be better, will be welding the dual exhaust up next week! . I went down to the shop today where they built the motor and the owner of the place said I'm good to go. Gave me a few pointers and tips and I went on my way. I picked up two snap rings for the door locks and fuel hose and a new hose for the heater core on the top side while I was there. Along with two small clamps for the fuel hose.

I drained the oil out of the rear diff the other day, sanded down both surfaces and coated it with black rtv silicone. And today I drained the transmission, and transfer case. I coated all the drain/fill plugs on the axles , tranny, and transfer case. I then filled them all today with fluids using a 4cc hand pump........lol..... It got the job done though...I had to add 15" of fuel hose to make it work in a 5 gallon bucket, it was meant to screw onto quart size containers. I purchased that little pump today too from the shop who built the motor. $ 6.50 , not bad , should work through the next service interval hopefully.

I also siliconed the electric fan wires inside the front clip behind the grill, need to add more tomorrow. I installed the dual electric fan switch on the dash today. Eventually want to get all steel rocker switches. Also started the hole for a oil temp gauge in the dash as well, I should have that mounted tomorrow but not hooked up. Tomorrow is detailing and wax day. I used one of the snap rings I got from the shop for the driver door lock. For the first time in well over a year I can lock my driver door with a key ! Haha! I replaced the lock today. I still need to replace the passenger side.

I mounted the front and rear bumpers on.......by myself..... What a pain..... Missing two bolts for top mounting brackets on front bumper, also need to replace both lower bolts on the front bumper as one broke from rust and the other is fugly and dented.  Rear bumper still needs torqued down. Rear steel braided brake line came in today! Now just need it order the front lines and replace all the steel cable throughout. That's not going to be cheap I'm thinking.

I have the brackets to mount a second tank (30) gallons I believe... That a member from the community sent me. I also already have a dual tank switch mounted in the cab, need to check and or replace the wiring for that.  Wanting some help on that one. I need to drop the tank I have and clean it out real well. Then install new hoses and clamps from the filler neck all the way up front into the engine bay.

Day by day I'm making to do lists and trying to knock them out to make consistent progress on the truck. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....

Oh and to answer your question Don the motor had to be shut down due to a coolant leak and high temperatures. So we shut her down early... Debating on dropping fluid , replacing with new break in oil from joe Gibbs. We are breaking it fully in next week and running it good and long. Had to shut it down the first time due to fumes inside the storage unit, 2nd time from a coolant leak and high temps, third time the charm???  It's a learning process for me....  Distributor needs pulled out and rotated 180 degrees after setting the motor to top dead center again . The vacuum line off the distributor that feeds from the carb is stopping right up against a rise in the manifold keeping me from idling and running how it should be. Found two spark plug wires nearly hanging off the plug on the passenger side and another halfway connected. I was scratching my head trying to figure out how that happened.

Anyways. I'm beat guys.... Here are some pics
