Get insurance on it.
While others have offered good advice on trying to stop someone else from driving off in it, they can always tow it away.
It would probably be  quieter for a bad guy to tow it away than to fire up your healthy big block.
Get it appraised by a classic car appraiser and insure it for a stated value.
It will probably cost less than you think.

I appreciate you guys taking the time for your input/advice... Right on....  Yeah starting the big block up would be a bad idea , for them... Tow truck is the best option.... So i will eventually get the low jack on it and a smartphone installed, a tire boot lock, chains and lock it to something too while it's at home... Who cares about going over the top to protect it. Like you guys said it would be hard to replace. And the cost of protecting it is next to nothing compared to the cost of building it.

The truck is insured with usaa. And the 2nd insurance policy is gunpowder and lead. And 3rd is our local law enforcement agencies.  Haha.

Hopefully it will be garaged soon so I can be at peace... Maybe get a few big dogs when I finally get a house too. That will deter most, 3 or 4 big dogs .... Umm yeah I'd pass too....

Anything more than the above would be going overkill...   Few kill switches and fail safes built into the truck and etc etc it will be more reassuring that it will still be there in the morning, if I wake up... You catch my drift guys? We are never promised tomorrow...

On a different note....

I need help with a wiring issue... The truck started and ran last time great , but, it is blowing 30 AMP fuses on the fuseable link coming off the positive battery terminal. Truck starts and runs, once shutdown, fuse is blown out and won't start again... BBM3 or any members in the area... Need help with wiring issue and why the tachometer isn't working. I don't want to burn the truck to the ground over a wiring issue... Electrical is my weak point. Not so great at it... Need motor timed with timing light and dialed in. I am burned out guys and timing this engine and tuning it is beyond my skill set. Fixing the wiring issue by myself unless I am walked through it, is beyond my capabilities.

I am burned out guys working on this truck. Oh by the way . That chad guy the welder. Jacked my exhaust up. Moron. Claimed to be a pro welder ...etc... Did a piss poor job building it... Not happy with his welds, angle of mufflers, the fit, the non existing identical look to them, the bends. No hangers installed... Yet... Never dropped off my side steps I had him supposedly fabricate either... Not happy with chad. He is on my shat list.

Myron doesn't have too much time . And I need help with this wiring ....ASAP... help me out here chevy brothers ...  What could be causing this

On a good note..... Radiator is in! Hooked up, tightened down, and filled up :-) need to install and hook up electric fans, need new mounting hardware. Hey also the driveshaft paid for and is in!!! Whoo hoo! Picked up new studs to replace all the axle studs, also a fire extinguisher bc rated I believe. For kitchen and garage , automotive fires. I will mount that inside the cab, I need a mount though.   a fire extinguisher with a hot rod goes hand in hand. It was a necessity. Want dual extinguishers, one on each side. Two is better than one. Any thoughts guys on a mount? Homemade preferred... Cost effective... Reliable , long lasting... Easy function, was thinking a latch would obviously be best attached to a circle bracket which is then routed through a small plate with holes drilled through it and then mounted via self tapping screws ? Am I on the right track here?

Oh hey I forgot to mention! I painted the undercarriage of my truck, with the exception of the tranny and transfer case. The axles are painted, rear needs another coat, still have a few areas to hit in hard to get to places, but for the most part it's solid through and through, need to redo the exhaust , then repaint it, not sure what colors I will use just yet.... Want to do something unique and cool, I want to paint the tranny and transfercase. The tranny , silver or copper, and the transfercase orange /black/silver,  all orange, or orange and silver, or orange and black. I want to do a cool paint theme for the tranny /transfercase, and exhaust, as well as driveline....

Any ideas with my cab? It has holes, gnarly rust spots in certain areas. Rocker panels are rotting out, cab body mount braces are about to go altogether , holes in floorboard,  and floor where your feet would be in its entirety is totally rusted out, will need replacing but other than that she is solid. But  some of those issues are a safety concern for me, rocker panels need fixed but the other issues are serious and need a total overhaul.

A lot has been happening in my life, so I havn't been posting near as much updates or pics etc but that will all start changing now. Should be online everyday at some point like I was... At least for a little while.

Well guys... The truck is just about on the road.... Vaguely... Still have some issues... But it's coming along..... Any input advice good or bad is welcome
