Leaking np 205 from top
« on: June 29, 2014, 03:50:58 pm »
My np 205 appears to be leaking somewhere at the top of the case.  I took off the boot on the shifter and the solenoid where the 4wd indicator connects to is all wet.  Could this be the problem?

I confirmed that the overflow tube is not leaking and it looks the problems are coming from the shift input shafts.  Do I need to pull the case and replace the seals from the inside?

No. The shift linkage seals can be replaced simply by digging out the old ones, and pressing in the new ones.

Removing/disassembling the case won't help you at all.

Thanks, I will look at the NP 205 manual and see how to do it.
