Should be able to swap them no problem, aside from swapping out a few sensors etc.....however the centerbolt heads require a different intake if you want to use a Carburetor. The center intake bolts go in at a different angle.

Ok thanks so I couldnt use my intake for a carb swap? The motor mounts and all hookuos will work the same. What do I need to use the tbi if I wanted to

The 1990 block may not have the fuel pump boss cast into the block. If you decide to use a carb you may end up installing an inline electric fuel pump.

While TBI certainly has its advantages over a carb, I can't see it being "easier". Lots of wiring & fuel systems modifications to be done. Dont get me wrong, I'm a big fan of TBI motors, just have a solid game plan before you get started.

You can take the motor out of the 1990 truck and put it in your 85. Just take the intake manifold off your truck and put it on the new motor. I took a 1995 350 and put it in a 84 suburban the same way.

Ok sounds alot easier than trying to do alot of wiring and fuel system modifications. Is there anything else that might hold me up with this swap

As Farm boy pointed out,  your manifold off the 1985 motor will not just bolt onto the 1990 block. You will have to modify the 4 center bolts (2 on each side of the carb) to bolt up to the 1990 block.  You can buy an aluminum manifold that will bolt right on to the 1987+ blocks (center bolt valve covers)for about $200 ( just a guess). Other than the fuel pump I mentioned earlier, most parts will swap over. The 1990 motor is a 1 piece rear main block, so use the oil pan & flex plate off that motor.
There is nothing wrong with keeping the TBI, just more work, and probably allot more $$.
