Opinions on possible new truck

On one hand it seems 5K is too much compared to a lot of stuff i see around here.  On the other hand, it's a complete 70 with NO RUST, and no serious modifications!  So maybe it is worth it.


Also, did GMC's even have chevy engines until 72?

Ok, i read that gmc started using the chevy straight 6 in 64 and by 69 they had all chevy power, i think.

As far as I know GMC had always had the same GM power trains that there Chevy brothers had. They all go down the same line and at some point get different name tags and stickers but basically both are GM trucks. Same mom different dad haha.

Then again I could be wrong too lol. That has been known to happen once or twice.

That's why GM killed Pontiac and kept GMC

Pontiac sold more vehicles but people will for some mysterious reason pay significantly more for a GMC tHan for a Chevy

I've heard it like this. Chevy is for all the guys hard working on the day shift, GMC is for there supervisor. Does about the same job but for a little more lettuce. Don't get me wrong tho, I love GMC just as much as I do Chevy, I wouldn't hesitate it get a GMC cuz it's "not a Chevy".

My girlfriends family drives all GMC and my family is all Chevy. So I don't have to worry about her calling me to come rescue her ford died or Honda quit working haha.

GMC is a little more expense yes, but if I was looking at 2 identical in every way trucks, except the name plates, I wouldn't know which to choose.
