Box swap

I have a 78 3/4 ton, the box floor is getting bad and I found a newer box at a good price. Question is I have dual tanks and the caps are round with no doors. The box I am looking at I am told is a 79 and it has dual square doors. Are the locations in the same spot and what would I have to do to make it work? Thanks.

The fuel doors are in the same spot as your bed with the round holes, as for the fuel necks you need to get the fuel necks for a 1979-82 Chevy/GMC truck. That would be the easiest. The necks are 79-82 specific and have two tabs coming off the neck that screw to the bed. I think someone sells the necks in whatever style you need per year of bed that you have. . You will also need the hoses. I have provided some pics of the correct necks. Have fun.
