Waste oil furnace.
« on: October 14, 2014, 06:22:06 am »
I am in the market for a waste oil furnace for the new shop I am moving into.
I have personal experience with Clean Air heaters as that is what used to be in this shop. I worked there for 7 years.  The Clean Air seamed to be a pretty reliable unit. Price of a new one is a little high. About $9,000 for the unit to fit my needs.
I like the Energy Logic heaters on paper, even better than the Clean Air, but the price is a bit absurd! Almost $10,000 for what I need.
Spent some time on the web this morning. Checked out Lanair, & Omni furnaces. They look decent as well. Still waiting on return E mails about pricing on them.

Any input from you guys is welcome. Personal experience, or knowledge?

I kinda like the warrenty aspect of a new unit. Think I am leaning toward the Omni unit.

Stumbled onto a waste oil ? wood furnace today. Still waiting for the detailed info, so I can research it online. Its brand new, still banded to the palette, still shrink wrapped from what he says. I can do trade off repair work. I work on his, & his wifes rigs already.

He wants $2,000 for it, but like I said I can trade it off for work.

We eliminated all waste oil heaters and I will never go back to them... Do you produce enough waste oil to even make it worthwhile?

I put an oil fire furnace in my shop and it gets so nice n toasty in there quick, I spend about $450 a year on oil for my garage.

I can get waste oil from several places within a 20 mile radius. I have a biomass power plant a mile down the road from the shop that I can get about 1,500 gallons a year from them, 300 a year from the concrete plant right across the road from me. Also have 2 other auto shops not far from me that will give me theirs. Plus what I produce.

The shop I am moving into had a Clean Burn waste oil furnace previously. I worked there for 7 years, we never had any problems with it.
