Mandarin Orange Interior

So I have a 77 K/20 Silverado Caper Special, Cordova Brown/Santa Fe Tan with the funky Mandarin Orange interior. Once I have completed my 69 Chevy build, I am going to look into restoring the 77 to its former glory. I am not a huge fan of the interior color at all, but I think it would be fun to restore it to stock since this truck was my grandfathers and he bought it brand new.

So I found a site that sells Mandarin Orange carpet, but I can not seem to find any other mandarin orange pieces. I can get replacement door panels, and interior trim parts in black, and then dye them if I can find Orange Dye that matches, or is pretty close.

So this is what I need:

Mandarin Orange Vinyl Dye (or something super close to it)
Mandarin Orange Seat Covers
Mandarin Orange Headliner
Mandarin Orange lower door carpeting

Has anyone ever seen anywhere that sells these parts?

If I cant find the parts I need in Orange, I will probably just restore the interior to saddle so I can get parts to match.

I think your best bet would be an auto upholstery shop that can help you custom make some pieces and just dye everything else.

Thanks. I am not a huge fan, but it is different and something you dont see every day.


The biggest thing will be finding a vinyl dye that is the Orange Color. If i can find that it will make my life a lot easier.

The carpet is actually in pretty good shape (same with the door carpet). If i deep clean them I may not need to replace them.

The seats are torn up so they will have to be replaced, unless I just leave the seat covers on, or get some different seat covers.

The headliner is just sagging and I had to do some jerry rigging to get it to stay out of the way. A good upholstery shop might be able to just re-use the current headliner and stick it back up .

         Nice truck you have and very clean interior. There is a place called Just Dashes that will custom match any color you need for the interior that you have. You do need to send them a piece of your existing interior and they will match it using your sample. I have a 1980 Chevy with green interior and I sent mine in to them and was very happy with the match and the way the dye is holding up. It is not cheap but it turned out great and I highly recommend it. They do send some cleaner, a scotch brite pad and some other supplies besides the dye. I used an adhesion promoter as well. They also do repair on plastic panels and all sorts of other interior pieces.
          That is a rare color you have and I have only seen a few times. I think it looks good. Good luck.

I think your rare color interior is cool. I think the name sounds like something I would order for take out but the color is nice. I would call it Alamo orange or old west orange, something western sounding haha.

It's a nice color though. Love the door pull handles on the door panels. What is that little switch at the bottom of the dash under the ash try for?

Thanks for the link. I might have to buy a can and see how it looks. The two listed as Gloss Pumpkin Orange look the closest, but I would have to actually get some to see. My biggest fear is the adhesion qualities, they are regular spray paints and not vinyl dyes.

I found a Hugger Orange (69 Camaro) vinyl dye, but it looks way to bright.

The switch is for fog lights my grandpa installed

You can go to a paint supplier and have them custom mix the dye for you.But be prepaired its expensive for what you get.I paid 70 bucks a pint 140 a quart but they matched it almost perfect.It comes ready to spray.If you don't have spray equipment you can get a aerosol spray bottle that works pretty well or have the dye put in a rattle can

Good idea. I should probably contact the paint supplier for my 69 build and see what he can do.

Oh nice. It's a period correct looking switch, that's pretty cool. Have a really nice looking truck there, I have always loved the brown and tan 2tone.
