cannot find where this lonely brown wire goes near distrib.
« on: March 01, 2015, 04:50:20 pm »
1985 c20 stock 350 700r4 trans. Unmolested truck from Calif.

I pulled trans for a rebuild and that has been re-installed. I saw this wire while trans was out and could not see anywhere it may have been. I am finishing up replacing intake gaskets now. and still have nowhere for this wire. It is brown and it says 103 r on the boot. I am going to start looking thru my manual now but figured I would try here as well. Thanks for any help.

That is for the oil sender...What does the wire look like that is on your sender? Does your truck have an original oil pressure gauge & does it work? Some had a light as well, I'm guessing this is the case. Lorne

Thank you for the response, my truck does not have a gauge. it has a light only, the pressure sensor has a plug that pushes on from the top and sorta clamps around the sensor, I don't know how the pics will turn out.

That is an oil sending unit plug.  Since you have the light it may be extra.  Doesn't the gauged trucks T off and one is the oil sender and the other is for the electric choke?
