Looking for a grille guard for a 1985 suburban. Any ideas where to get one?

No one produces them any longer.  Comb the wrecking yards or do a search on Craigslist and eBay.  You will eventually find one but it may take a while.

New, or used? Any specific brand?

Otherwise, just the usual.

eBay, Craigslist, swap meet.

Or you can make your own. A few years ago there were tons of the ones that came off of the M-1008s that the Defense Department sold off. Many guys grabbed up those trucks for the axles and scrapped the rest. I'm sure tons of good or at least usable sheet metal went to the shredder because the rock crawler people didn't care to try to sell the carcasses of the M-series military trucks.

I am in Southeast OK. May be dumb question but there is one of the military Blazers at a lot here. Is there something special about the axles or other parts on these vehicles. I have tried to purchase the grille guard and he doesnt want to part it out.

M-1009s had a 24v electrical system otherwise they are just regular ol production Blazers.
