The spring will be in the way before you get to the inner fender..
This isn't correct...the tire will hit the wheelwell before the spring as it sits farther outward than the spring by about 1 3/4".
It is just about the width of one space on the bedfloor. Originally when the wheelwell comes down to the floor...it meets a low portion of the bed floor, when moved back in line with the spring edge...it will come down against an upward portion of the bed floor.
Unfortunately my regular computer gave up on me & my laptop doesn't play well with Photobucket so I don't know how to do photos right now.
Attached is from an older post. If you look at my wheelwell & then one of a stock truck, you will see mine is the width of the flat rib closer toward the center than stock. This is where it ends up when widened back in line with the spring edge.
