dashes direct question.
« on: March 15, 2015, 08:42:36 pm »
Hi everyone!

I'm getting ready to start on my second truck interior, and I'm curious about the dash pad sold here.
I've already put a new pad into my 84 from cheyenne parts and it looks pretty good, the color is dead on, but it does have a couple of minor issues. I was wanting to go the dashes direct route on this 87 but I do have one question of...how blue is the dark blue? The interior color of this truck is dark blue, but looking at the pictures, it looks to be more "medium" blue. I know the color isn't guaranteed to match but at this moment I really don't have the room to dye a pad. Is the dark blue pretty close to factory dark blue? I wondered if the camera flash made the pad look lighter.

for the vinyl skinned one?  It is pretty accurate.  It is nothing like the dark blue from the factory.

I forgot that detail, yes the vinyl skinned ones. So my eyes aren't deceiving me. I may go this route anyway and figure out how to make enough room in my garage to dye a dash pad. I've got truck parts scattered everywhere!

Thanks for the help!

I'm new to the fourm. Where does one find a blue dash for an 84 GMC? It doesn't have to be spot on color wise  but something out of the box close on color would be nice. it's just a daily driver

Using a color match dye is about as easy as it gets. There's a rainbow of color selections to choose from. I prefer SEM http://www.semproducts.com/products
