Author Topic: Ground strap bolt at firewall is stripped. Best way to secure this ground wire?  (Read 2781 times)

Long story short.  Truck wouldn't start, so I started looking at the ground points.  Found the loose connection at the firewall.

Problem is, the bolt is stripped and will never get a good ground.  Whats the best way to fix this?

Can you get to the other size with a nut?  If not run a larger bolt through it?

Make sure the cab sheetmetal is shiny, smear it with a little antioxidant, and use the next larger screw size if you can.  Don't over tighten it.

I put the ground strap from the engine cylinder head to the bracket for the brake booster lol.
