1974 Chevy K10 .. Zee Beast
« on: September 18, 2015, 10:19:33 pm »
Figured I'm show the truck since I'm at a point where I don't feel its a complete turd. Rebuilt the top end and re-sealed the engine over the winter. Just finished putting the 4" lift into it but still have a ways to go before I can really enjoy this truck.

When I bought it.. Yes it is tagged as a GMC but I prefer Chevy.

Motor cleaned up

Bucket seats being installed

New jewellery

And where we sit now.. This picture is almost 1 year since I got the truck

haha that shell was so rotted I think termites took home up in it for the last 20 years. When I pulled it off the truck it literally collapsed on itself.

right year bumper?

Yeah brackets are all bent to crap and I have no bolts so trying to figure out the right size. I've got 7/16x1.5" but they don't fit properly.

Truck looks completely different. Amazing what a little love and some Air under the fenders can accommodate!

Welp I now know why the bumper will not go back onto this truck no matter what :( It appears that the frame is perhaps twisted somewhere.

You can see if you look closely you can see that everything on the left side is a good inch or more higher than the right side. The frame horn.. spring hanger... everything. You can even see the difference in the frame horns underneath the radiator :( Anyone think this is fixable? I could also explain the weird behavior when I'm turning this truck.

It was obviously known nc if you look at the lower core support isolators the passenger side is easily thicker than the right. This was to allow the panels to align for the whole front clip. Only way to know is trace the damage and see where the twist and or crack is!!!

Yup. I will be taking some axle to frame measurements on all 4 corners after work tomorrow to see how much of a different there is between them. From there I'll figure out what the eff is going on.

If you get that far back and see extremely close measurements keep oin mind that the actual problem is farther forward which is a good thing

74 GMC > 74 Chevy
You should put the correct 74 grille on it. Best looking front end in my opinion 73-74 GMC of course I am biased
