What drop do you think this is?
« on: October 13, 2015, 06:53:33 pm »
On my 77 C10 Scottsdale, I want to lower it some so my wife can get in & out
easily. I'm going to run 8" steel wheels in front, & 10" steel wheels in back, with
stock hub caps. My question is, what drop do I need? I found this picture
of a truck with the stance, what drop do think it is? I'm not sure who own the
truck, but here's a picture of it.

Probably a 3/5 but just break out a tape measure and see how much you want to drop it.

No! We measured on a friends truck, when he lowered his truck. He went with a 4/5, the front was to high & the was too low! I don't know what went wrong, I just don't want to repeat that mistake! My truck is stock, hopefully this goes as planned!

You always want the rear 2" of less drop so it doesn't look like it is dragging its tail.  This is due to the wheel opening being lower in the rear that the front.

I like the tops of the fender openings even with the tops of the tires.  But this is a very subjective thing.  I have 3" spindles and cut coils plus a flip kit.

Sorry for being gone for a bit! I had to have back surgery again, Fun! I agree I like the top of the fender to be at the top of the tire.  Maybe by thanksgiving I can get out, and get a plan of attack ready! Thanks guy's!
I would like the truck to be setup for the spring time, lowered, 373 gears, rear air bags to keep the truck at the right ride height, for our small 23' fifth wheel! After forty years in the HVAC&R busness, my body is about done, so it's about time to have some fun! I've always wanted to do Route "66" from Santa Monica Ca. to Chicago IL. It may take us three weeks, or maybe 5 or 6 weeks! Thats in my bucket list! It may not be for everybody like my wife, but she's there for me! Now my brother in law wants go to, but his wife said , she won't go in that car of his, Corvette Z06. So he's looking for something different!  My daughter gets married on the 21st of Nov. Then it's my wife & I & her yorkie. My son & daughter in law, then my daughter & son in law are all four in Lynchburg Va.! That's a long ways away! Then there will be a move in the future. I think I'm rambling with the meds I'm on. Thanks for your help! God Bless
