Thanks. A picture is worth a thousand words. I'll see what I can come up with today.

I've not had any problem with Fram filters. What AC part number do you use?
I have a late 90s block so I use a AC PF1218. Tho I think most of the older small blocks use the same filter.
I prefer AC Delco on everything too, i cant find em anywhere. Will that number work on my crate 350?

All the cables that I have found measured from 24" to 25" long. The one I have measures 19.5" long, and without bending a big "S" in it, it's about 3.5" to long.

I was contacted by one of the restro sites and the one they say will work for my build is the same length as what I have.

I also talked with a friend of mine who's into build rods and he told me he was cutting out a section of the spiral wire section and was putting a coupler from a hydraulic shop to put it back together. He said he would put some tape on the ends where he was going to cut to keep it from raveling.

Mr. Gasket sells a throttle kit that comes in a 36" length that you cut to fit. Hate to throw 3/4 of the product away after cutting to fit what I have.

I'm going over to the guy in my area that sells original 73-87 parts and look at what he might have before I do anything.
The one that was in there when i got the truck seemed long, and the new one i got from napa a while back was the same length. Has a big curve at the firewall and that makes it less smooth and more resistance. I hate that. Any solutions, do they come smaller??

Finally! I think I'll still buy a new one since the plastic is gone off the spiral wires.

The curve is there to allow for engine movement and flexing. Removing it serves no beneficial purpose.

Made some progress today. Wired in the new distributor, fan relay, and fans. Hooked back up lights and stuff disconnected when took apart. Still have to shim the starter, trim the lower radiator hose, adjust the trans lines, run my power wire to the distributor, and put the accelerator pedal back together. Will be removing the radiator to adjust the mounting.

Going to crank it tomorrow to check the starter (not to run) and make sure nothing catches on fire.

It's on the drivers side on the back of the valve cover. I believe I'm going to swap covers so it will be on the passengers side.

Drove my truck in the yard today. I put a couple of mufflers to quiet it down until get my exhaust system. I did find a vacuum hiss coming from the back of the booster from inside the truck. Have posted a question in the suspension section.

Put a new brake booster and master cylinder on and put my new rims and tires on. Drove it down the road and back a few times. Very, Very Fast!
