i know on some trucks (not sure about ours) but they have a remote amp. i know years like the 04 will have it but idk when they started
Are you hearing the "key in the ignition" or "headlight on" chime?
Stock GM radios sometimes have to be unlocked. They have a feature which prevents them from being swapped from car to car, unless they are unlocked. And they have to be similar model radios from similar model vehicles. The feature is for people who steal the and then try to resell them to unsuspecting customers. Like radio from a 03 Tahoe into a 05 suburban, from a 02 suburban to a 01 truck, or from a 04 truck to 06 Tahoe. And sometimes they don't always work even if you unlock them. The fact that truck radio works in the Pontiac is strange but I'm not surprised the Pontiac radio doesn't work in the truck. Is either radio have the word "locked" on the screen? Plus Pontiac radios have always been different from the radios used in the Chevy or gmc vehicles, whether it be car, truck or suv.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
