SUPER CHEAP Tailgate theft deterrent...
« on: April 01, 2016, 01:57:55 pm »
Apparently Tailgates are very popular with the scumbag crowd and very easy to steal.  Lots of trucks around here driving around sans-tailgate.  Pretty d*mn sad if you ask me.  but luckily, most of those losers are STUPID and LAZY, so hopefully this will make it a bit difficult for them.  Cost... almost free.

I took a panel clip and mounted it to the Tailgate hinge, making it impossible to just pop right off as they normally would.  Once I get a chance to go to the auto parts store I will replace the phillips head screw with a small torx screw, which should really befuddle them.

Personally, I'd rather just mount a rusty razorblade to it and watch the fun, but I might be breaking some liberal feelgood law by doing that, so for now, I give you my solution:

It is very illegal, I spent a lot of money and time in court over it. Only I used syringes and mercury and a trigger to actuate a spring... It worked though, I never lost another tailgate. I lost 3 in a month before.

My friends used to solder fishhooks to the backs of their stereos back in the day.  For one guy in particular it worked...  JUSTICE!
