Bench Seat differences

I was wondering if the mounting brackets for the 80-87 truck bench seats were different than the 73-79 truck bench seat, that would be great if somone had the answer otherwise a picture of the brackets on a 80-87 would work also then I will compare with my 75 to see if a newer seat would work in my truck, thanks

Brackets are different where the lever is to adjust the seat.  I don't know if the brackets will interchange throughout all the 73-87 but the floor holes are in the same spot, so a 85 seat will bolt to a 74 cab

I remember 1 issue..... Later model's may have a taller frame.......you may need longer seat belt hook ups.....

I already got a seat lined up, gonna pick it up this weekend, then I gotta go
Bring it to the upholstery shop, and that could be a treat but once I get it back from the upholstery shop I can install it and finally be done with all this

Various restor parts companies offer new, replacement upholstery kits as well as upholstery kits that are more "modernly" styled. Some are actually very nice looking.

Ok I went to a site and I did not like what I saw vinyl and velour was 200 and leather was 900! My local upholster said he thinks he can take out my old bench seat cover and put it on my new seat and I really like my old bench seat cover, Brown plaid and it's a great material doesn't scratch or tear almost like it's covered in some sort of thick plastic

Fair enough. Leather is going to be expensive anywhere you go. Leather is inherently expensive and the material has to be cut and fitted and assembled. Requiring a decent amount of auto upholstery skill to ensure quality and appearance. The other materials are much less expensive because they aren't leather. The cost of material is the main reason for the price hike.

Well depending on the manufacturer, that good be argued. I've seen some very nice upholstery kits.

Ya i've seen some slip covers come out real nice, tight. Heavy duty pleather or leatherette.
