Connections I have no clue where it goes

I have a connection that I can't figure out where it plugs into.  The wires also have a lead that comes off it and goes to some sensor.

What year? Does the sensor go in the head or exhaust? Maybe take another picture of the sensor.

1974 k10 350.  The sensor has a connection already I have no clue where the connection in my had goes

That looks like part of the Transmission Controlled Spark (TCS) modification that restricts vacuum advance operation to high gear.  Chances are there are components long missing from the system that are no longer available.  As long as you don't have to endure vehicle emissions inspections, leave it disconnected or remove the wiring entirely, along with its temperature sensor and relay, so as to leave no trace to excite suspicion.

What?  You've never heard of Carnac the Magnificent?  lol  I doubled the image size to see blue and green wires and what I suspect, used to be pink. then surmised from there.  Really, nothing else made sense for the year.

I do not have to have  emissions done on this truck.  I have one sensor on the right (passenger) rear of the block and a sensor on the  driver front of block.  Which one goes to temp gauge in cab.  I don't want to start ripping out wires if I need them.  I mean I wish I could just trash it all but can't

The OE configuration places the temperature gauge sending unit in the left cylinder head between the #1 and #3 spark plugs and connects to the dash gauge through a single dark green wire. 

Take the time to verify the wires in question are what I think they are by comparing to the 1974 Wiring Manual (page 2) and the 1974 Service Manual (page 518).
