Now I can move my square's
« on: June 17, 2016, 03:25:18 pm »
I splurged on a new car trailer after being without for many years.  I special ordered this with dual 5200 lb axles, steel floor, winch plate, tool box,in floor lighting and matching spare.  I've been looking for about 5 months and this was the best bang for the buck.

Heartland trailer out of Sikeston MO, this is a 10,400 GCVW so I shouldn't have any bent axles hauling the one tons

the 7 ton trailer i use is just wide enough for the srw dana 60s to clear. the trailer me and my buddy built was made so the truck would ride on top of the trailer tires as they only stuck up about 3". we had fenders that were nothing but sheet metal as a cover to stop rocks from flying, you would remove them of course before you would load or unload the trailer

Got one, a nice one about 5 years ago for my other car trailer which I sold.  I just need to figure out a hinged cover to keep the weather off of it when not being used.  I plan to post pictures of the install.

I use the Super Winch cradle mount. With nice winches costing about $1,000 its nice to be able to remove it for safe keeping.

I believe mine is a Super Winch but honestly don't remember.  It was a $300 or so.  My trailer came with a plate welded that I will need to drill into to mount.  A removable plate would be better, I'll look into it.  Sounds easier as well since the trailer has a lockable tool box...  Thanks

The cradle mount is the one a lot of off road guys use so they can move it from the front/back of the truck. It comes with a piece of square stock that slides into a receiver hitch.
I had the square stock welded to the trailer tounge ( I had a buddy weld it, my welds are patch panel quality at best).
 Its a great set up.
