U-Joint, can it be overgreased?

My driveline vibration is starting to go away. I even removed the two hose clamps and weight i had on there for testing purposes. I do remember greasing up the u joints, but cant remember if thats when the driveline vibe started. Question: could an over-greased u joint have caused it, or could cause a driveline vibe?

When you put too much grease in it will expel and when you drive it will sling out of the joint.
If you have a bad u-joint it will cause noise or vibration.

Ok, i think the shaft is fine then, just need some new quality u joints. The extent of the vibration comes and goes. It just "feels" like its the u joints.

A vice, a socket the size of the ujoint and a socket big enough for it to fit inside without getting it stuck inside of it. Put all three in the vice. Large socket then driveshaft then small socket. When you clamp down the vice the smaller socket will push the u joint through and into the larger one. Remove the cap and do it again the other direction for the other side

And if you don't have a vice you can use a hammer. Just use an unwanted socket and don't hit the driveshaft or your fingers.

They ~should~ be the same part number. Likely a 1310 u-joint.
Unless something has been changed along the way..... My truck has a 1310 rear, and a 1310-1350 conversion u-joint in the front, but that is not factory.

A ball joint press is the only way to go for changing U joints.
