Both Tires

86  c10 350/350turbo transmission..,
Both of my front wheels are wearing on the inside, I'm on a budget, any suggestion on how to tow in or tow out Do it
Yourself. Some say use string. Any help would be appreciated.

Might not be toe, but camber, (might be caster always confuse those two)

But yes string and care full measurement. Take a look at tire stores, the three in the town I live, have free alignments for November in prep for snow, maybe something else to consider?

if you can talk to a shop that does alignments. sometimes if they cant due to a bad ball joint or pitman arm they wont charge you.

Right, if they look and say, "hey, you have a bad part" they shouldn't charge anything, they should be looking at the vehicle before it gets on the alignment machine. But any bad parts should be replaced anyways, $100 is cheaper then $10000 in hospital bills.

Drive straight forward 3 truck lengths. Put a piece of tape on the back of the tires (on the tread) just low enough that you can run a tape measure across and keep it straight. Make an X on the tape and measure from side to side. Get as close to halfway up the tire as you can. Roll the truck ahead until you can measure across the front. If the front measurement is bigger you are toed out. I'm guessing that's what you'll find with both tires wearing on the inside. You'll need a helper that can hold the tape in the same spot each time. If they hold the tape inside the line of the X on the back and then the outside on the front you're measurement will be off 1/16 to an 1/8 inch. Instead of using the end of the tape, it's easier to hold it at the 10 inch line so the tape is flat against the tire.

also ive personaly installed cameras at dealerships that do services to cars. lets say you pull up to do an oil change they attaches something to your wheels after you get out and do a free camera inspection

Because of camber, toe in has inside tire wear, toe out will have outside wear, toe wear will be choppy, camber wear will be smooth.

The Hunter Hawkeye Elite sensors go over the tires and are quick mount. It is intended to allow the technician to do a quick "free" alignment inspection to recommend an alignment to the customer if needed. A free alignment check is not a free alignment.

While using a tape will work to put your rig back together you still need to do an alignment. Incorrect toe will wear your tires very quickly.
