All the return lines on my truck were 5/16", the vent lines were 1/4".

At least you can stretch 1/4" over 5/16", but it is much harder to properly clamp 5/16" to 1/4".

I guess that would make sense different years may use different size lines. Im eliminating the charcoal cannister (it wasnt hooked up anyway and the 5/16 line was gone). It made for a really interesting night trying to figure out what was what. It wasnt terribly hard till we starting thinking too much about the size of the return line vs the selector valve.

Finished the shocks today. Installed the front speakers in the dash, undercoated and moved the bed. Yada yada

I'm one up on ya, i can start my truck and drive it, bedless though. Next step is spray in bed liner, then pretty much done.

Are you sure you want to cover up those beautiful bed rails with the diamond plate?

This truck will be used as a truck, the bed rails wouldnt be pretty for long. I plan on driving it till the cab corners and rockers rust out again.


Motor goes in Tuesday and then its pretty much at a standstill till Classic Industries ships me the bolt kit thats been out of stock forever (I should get it next week). Also waiting for square hole washers from Fastenal so I can manage to take the bed off again later.

Are the tube steps made for the truck or did you custom make brackets?

They appear to have been made for it but I cant say for sure. They were on the truck when i bought it.

A handful of companies still make tube steps for these trucks with the brackets needed. Some are cab length and some are cab and front half of bed. By looking at his picture, the step pads indicate those are SmittyBilt brand steps. I think SmittyBilt, Westin, Summit Racing, Nerf and a few others are the ones that make sets for squares.

Guess I need to search harder, although I haven't decided if I do want steps, do like them on the 2009 Chevy work truck though.

Installed audio and did some other misc stuff today.

Waiting on a large parts order to reassemble the interior and front end.

I also finally talked my buddy into trading me his holley 570 for my 850 double pumper. Itll go much better with his step side show truck than it will with my daily driver.

Looks like $1200 in parts will be delivered tomorrow. Ill still be waiting on my grill but this should be about the last of it.
