73 C10 Rear Disk Brake Conversion
« on: February 21, 2017, 06:34:05 pm »
Is there a later model rear disk setup that will mount on a 1973 C10?

Thanks.

Yes and NO.  The ones that would have already be picked from the junk yard.
Serveral companies make kits for these now.  SSBS, Little Shop, CPP, etc.

Thanks for your response.  This little project's winding down. Realizing an after-market setup is about $600 or $800, I'll probably leave the drums on.  I recall about ten years ago converting my 68 Ford.  The twin I beams and all the hardware were about $300 at the wrecking yard.  Doesn't look that simple this time.  I just don't like drums.

You can get Captian Fab's brackets and run front calipers on the rear and an Astro AWD front disc with front hoses if you want to try and do a cheap version.
It will not have a parking brake.  I have this setup on mine except I am using dual piston calipers from Wilwood.
